Text Messaging Notifications Via SMS

Due to increased SMS volume and issues with carriers and some of the repeated content that we can send out i.e. staffing and status changes, being marked as spam we are disabling SMS as an output for some notification types. The following notification events will no longer generate an SMS, but will still send Push Notifications and Emails: Unit Status Changed, Personnel Staffing Changed, Personnel Status Changed, User Created, User Assigned To Group, Document Added, Note Added, Unit Added, Log Added and Department Settings Changed.

Text Messaging New SMS Numbers

Due to the increased volume over the last couple of months our primary outbound SMS number has been encountering issues at a few major carriers. As a response to this, we have split the US into multiple regions with numbers dedicated to each region. For each region, the bank of outbound SMS will be randomly selected when attempting to send outbound messages, this should allow for a degree of randomization in number selected to ensure that for a single department an impact to one outbound sms number wouldn't prevent messages for the entire department. Because of this region selection, it is still possible to narrow down what number you may see for Resgrid messages based on our target area code, but now instead of 1 number, there will be multiple you will need to enter in the Resgrid contact in your mobile devices. We plan to roll this out today and have documentation updated by the end of the week.

Dispatch Outbound SMS Issue Resolved

The Outbound SMS system is working again, the overall impact of the outage is that it covered a good portion of today, totally about 7 hours. Some SMS's during that time were unable to be delivered.

Dispatch Issue With Text Messaging (SMS)

SMS messaging is being impacted by our 3rd party provider used to send SMS messages, we are looking at ways to resolve this now.

resgrid.com Initial Dispatch Protocol Deployment

We've deployed the first version of the Protocol functionality. Protocols are right now defined to be used by Dispatch via the New Call screen in Resgrid and can be triggered by call type, call priority, or both. Protocols can also have questions that need to be answered and a score met for them to be activated. An example protocol would be a COVID19 exposure protocol that is assigned to the call based on answered questions, like SoB. The protocol shortcode will then be visible on Text Messages (SMS) and emails in addition to the View Call page. We are working on finalizing the visibility of the Protocol text and any attachments, i.e. a SOP pdf, in the Unit and Responder apps.
